When best friends Kate Sizzle and Gemma Wonder apply for WIDA (Womens
Institute of Dramatic Artists) only one of them is accepted. How
will this devastating news effect their lifelong friendship and
their never-ending quest for stardom?
Dont Call Us... Well Call You! brilliantly encapsulates
the trials and tribulations of this hilarious yet heart warming
journey as Kate & Gemma struggle to hit the big time.
Maria O'Hare and Sigrid Langford-Scherf, as old friends, have indeed
drawn on plenty of experience in writing this cabaret. With over
30 years of combined singing and acting expertise their innate humour,
intelligence and infectious chemistry will evoke much laughter and
thoroughly entertain audiences.
As
a successful singer songwriter and businesswomen in the UK for over
12 years Maria has now started her own company, big
M productions. With this new found freedom comes a fresh burst of
creativity, which along with many other projects, delves into the
wonderful world of cabaret. With extensive experience in musical
theatre, Jazz and popular music and Maria's natural ability to entertain
with vibrancy and a zest for life, this girl is certainly one to
keep your eye on.
Sigrid is an amazing vocalist whose performances are nothing short
of captivating. With more than twelve years of formal training and
award recognitions, her genres include cabaret, theatre, jazz and
hard-edged funk. She continues to impress audiences around Sydney
with her profound ability and extraordinary stage presence.
Musical Director - Andrew Davidson
Andrew is a NIDA graduate who has worked with many successful performers
as both a director and musical director. His recent cabaret credits
include directing Joanna Weinberg and Natalie Gamsu in Two Divas:
One Comeback, Amie McKenna's Australian Idiot (2005),
Kaye Tuckerman's Man-eater (2003) and Andrew Threfell's Significant
Others (2003). With charm, style, humour and intelligence Andrew's
influence on the show will be invaluable.
